Japanese singer Mai Kuraki has broken her own Guinness World Record for the “Most theme songs sung by the same artist for an animation series” with her songs for Detective Conan.
Her new song “Ai de Zenbu Dakishimete Aishite” became the anime’s 76th ending theme with Episode 1124, which aired in Japan on September 26. It also marks Kuraki’s 30th theme song for the series.
Kuraki first began performing theme songs for Detective Conan in 2000. She previously set the Guinness World Record in 2017 with 21 songs, making this the record’s first update in nine years.
A best-of album featuring all 30 of Kuraki’s Detective Conan theme songs, “Mai Kuraki x Detective Conan COLLABORATION BEST 30 -Kimi ga Itekureta kara, Uta ga Aru.-,” will be released on November 11.
