The second season of the TV anime The Cat and the Dragon has been officially announced and is scheduled to air in 2027. The first season, which began airing in July, concluded with its 12th episode on September 19.
To celebrate the announcement, special illustrations from the original creators and anime staff have been released, along with a promotional video for Season 2.

The Cat and the Dragon is a fantasy tale that delves into the mysterious bond between a dragon, a cat, and a human raised by a cat. Written by Amara and illustrated by Mai Okuma, the novel is published by Takarajimasha, alongside a comic adaptation by Izumi Sasaki. Both the novel and its comic version are currently in development, with total circulation exceeding 1.2 million copies.
Crunchyroll currently streams the first season of The Cat and the Dragon, and describes the story:
An orphan since hatched, a lone dragon named “Uncle Wings” is taken in by a family of magic-wielding cats and raised as one of their own. As Uncle Wings grows, he becomes the cats’ protector, determined to keep them safe from humans. But as he watches the cats connect with humans using their magic, Uncle Wings slowly starts to warm up to humans in this heartfelt, bittersweet tale.
