To celebrate the 10th anniversary of A SILENT VOICE, based on Yoshitoki Oima’s manga, the film will return to Japanese theaters on October 30. A Dolby Cinema version will also be released for the first time.
To mark the 10th anniversary, a new commemorative illustration by Yoshitoki Oima has also been unveiled.

Originally released in 2016, A SILENT VOICE became a long-running hit thanks to strong word of mouth. Despite opening in only 120 theaters, the film went on to earn 2.3 billion yen at the Japanese box office.
The movie was also nominated for the Japan Academy Prize for Animation of the Year. Along with Your Name and In This Corner of the World, it was one of the anime films that attracted major attention in 2016.
On October 30, opening day, a special stage greeting titled the “10th Anniversary Stage Greeting for the Movie A SILENT VOICE” will be held at Dolby Cinema in Marunouchi, Tokyo. Miyu Irino and Saori Hayami, who voiced the main characters Shoya Ishida and Shoko Nishimiya, will attend the event.
Advance lottery ticket sales through Lawson Ticket will run from September 17 until October 4 at 11:59 PM JST.

After transferring into a new school, a deaf girl, Shoko Nishimiya, is bullied by the popular Shoya Ishida. As Shoya continues to bully Shoko, the class turns its back on him. Shoko transfers and Shoya grows up as an outcast. Alone and depressed, the regretful Shoya finds Shoko to make amends. “A Silent Voice” is a moving coming-of-age drama that depicts the struggles of adolescence through its memorable characters and beautiful animation.
