The exhibition celebrating MAPPA‘s 15th anniversary, “MAPPA EXPO 15th Anniversary,” will open tomorrow, September 16, at the YURAKUCHO MUSEUM in Tokyo. A preview event was held today, September 15, ahead of the official opening.

A Look Back at MAPPA’s 15 Years of Anime
Founded in 2011, MAPPA is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. The exhibition features 23 anime titles produced by the studio, including Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, Attack on Titan: The Final Season, and JUJUSTU KAISEN.
Visitors can explore original artwork, production materials, character designs, backgrounds, props, and other exhibits that showcase how MAPPA’s anime have been created.
The “Various Stories” area features a wide range of MAPPA productions, from Kids on the Slope to Ranma 1/2. Other titles on display include In This Corner of the World, Terror in Resonance, Yuri!!! on ICE, Zombie Land Saga, Dorohedoro, BANANA FISH, and Kakegurui.



The exhibition also features items connected to the stories, including Eiji’s letter to Ash from BANANA FISH and the Itsuki Sumeragi Collection from Kakegurui. The displays cover not only characters but also backgrounds and props, giving visitors a closer look at each production.


Attack on Titan, JUJUSTU KAISEN, and Chainsaw Man
The Attack on Titan: The Final Season area features a large three-dimensional recreation of the Rumbling caused by Eren. Visitors can also see production materials and explore the emotions and fear surrounding the Titans.
Another section, titled “How That Hill Landscape Was Created,” shows how background artwork was made using paints, brushes, original drawings, and hand-painted watercolors.





The JUJUTSU KAISEN area looks back at several major battles, including Gojo vs. Jogo and Nanami vs. Mahito. It also features production materials, a life-size figure of Yuji Itadori, and a recreation of Gojo’s room.






The Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc area recreates the phone booth where Denji meets Reze. The quiet space is filled with storyboards, scripts, setting materials, and famous lines from the story.
The exhibition also features life-size Bomb Devil figures and follows Reze’s journey through her relationship with Denji toward the story’s conclusion.




Special Audio Guides
Visitors can also enjoy a free audio guide throughout the exhibition.
Kenjiro Tsuda provides narration for the overall exhibition, while Yui Ishikawa guides visitors through the Attack on Titan area as Mikasa Ackerman. Asami Seto provides narration for the JUJUTSU KAISEN area as Nobara Kugisaki, while Reina Ueda, who voices Reze, guides visitors through the Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc area with newly recorded audio.
MAPPA EXPO 15th Anniversary will run from September 16 to October 25, before a second period from October 28 to December 7. Tickets are currently available through Lawson Ticket.
