The upcoming Japanese-language adaptation of the 2025 donghua series Paws & Palaces has revealed a new trailer, key visual, theme song performer, and additional cast members. The series will premiere in Japan on October 10, 2026, with a special broadcast featuring the first four episodes.
New episodes will then be released weekly on Wednesdays starting October 14.
Riko Azuna will perform both the opening and ending theme songs for the Japanese-language version. The song titles have not yet been announced.

Based on the webcomic Forbidden City: Cat Imperial Study by A’Nan and Daitu, the donghua originally aired from December 2025 to March 2026 with 16 episodes.
The story follows six cats living in China’s Forbidden City. While visitors know them as ordinary cats, they secretly protect the palace’s treasures by entering their inner worlds and fighting against a mysterious demon called the Black Owl.
