A 4DX screening of Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of Mermaid Island, based on Nagano’s original work, has been announced, along with a voice-supported screening and a screening with automatic penlight effects.
The 4DX screenings will begin on September 5. Audiences will feel the action through sirens, the rabbits’ movements during races, as well as wind and water effects during the characters’ adventures.

Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of Mermaid Island adapts the “Siren Arc” from the Chiikawa series. During an island camp, Chiikawa and his friends become involved in a plan to defeat the Sirens, who have been kidnapping the island’s residents.
The movie was released in Japan on July 24. As of August 23, it had earned ¥1.1 billion at the Japanese box office and attracted 7.66 million viewers.
