Aoto Aoyagi’s novel Red Riding Hood: A Detective Story will be adapted into a TV anime in 2027. A teaser visual and teaser PV have been released. Yume Miyamoto will voice Red Riding Hood, while Akira Sekine will voice Pinocchio.

Aito Aoyagi began publishing the original novel series through Futabasha in August 2020. The series currently has four volumes in Japan.
A manga adaptation, illustrated by Kanoka Tana, was published from January 2023 to May 2025 and also has four volumes.
The series was also adapted into the live-action film Once Upon a Crime in 2023. The movie is available to stream on Netflix.
Pony Canyon describes the story as follows:
On the outskirts of town lived a girl called “Red Riding Hood”. One day, she found herself forced to embark on a journey for a certain purpose. Strangely enough, however, she kept getting swept up in incident after incident along the way.
Using her innate curiosity and clever mind, Red Riding Hood set about solving each mystery. “Why is your criminal plan so sloppy?” This is the world of a fairy tale everyone knows—.
