The upcoming Inherit the Winds TV anime has revealed a new cast member. Voice actor Ryohei Kimura will play Shinpachi Nagakura. The anime is scheduled to premiere in Japan in January 2027.
Aniplex, Live2D, and Drive are collaborating on the project, aiming to explore new forms of visual expression through the use of Live2D technology.

The anime is set in Kyoto during the Bakumatsu era. A soldier who has lost his memory is taken under the wing of the renowned Shinsengumi member Sōji Okita. Okita gives him a new identity, naming him Junsuke Tachikawa. Amidst the Mibu soldiers, Junsuke begins a new chapter in his life.
