Joker: Laugh Riot Leads DC’s New Animation Line-Up

DC Studios announces new animated slate at annecy!

DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation have revealed a new list of upcoming animated projects during a presentation at the Annecy festival.

The main announcement is Joker: Laugh Riot, the first anime-style series from DC Studios. The show will follow the Joker as he travels through Gotham’s criminal world in search of Batman’s killer.

The series will be animated by Sola Entertainment, known for The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim. It will be directed by Yasuhiro Aoki. No release date has been announced yet.

The presentation also confirmed an animated adaptation of Absolute Batman, based on the comic series by Scott Snyder.

In addition, DC announced a new animated series focused on Krypto, Superman’s dog. The series will be directed by C.H. Greenblatt.

INTRODUCTION:
When Batman is murdered, the Joker launches a ruthless crusade through Gotham’s underworld to find the killer who took away his greatest adversary. But as his violent quest for answers pushes him closer towards vigilante than villain, Joker is forced to confront the truth that without Batman, he doesn’t know who he is.
