A TV anime adaptation of Getting Shots on a Frying Pan, based on the original work by Juntaro Aoki and illustrated by Shin Moriyama, has been officially announced. The series will be produced by J.C.STAFF and is scheduled to premiere in 2027.

The manga began serialization on Kadokawa’s Comic Newtype website in 2021 and has released five collected volumes in Japan. A spin-off series, Getting Shots on a Frying Pan: Transit, written by Aoki and illustrated by Hirota Takahara, launched in 2026.
The series follows Juntaro as he travels to some of the world’s most dangerous places to experience local cuisine and review the food. Presented as a “non-fiction” story, the manga features all characters as women, reflecting the protagonist’s tongue-in-cheek “brain rot” perspective.
