The initial Sgt. Frog anime series debuted in 2004 and aired for 358 episodes over several seasons, concluding in 2011. In 2014, a 24-episode series titled Keroro was released. Both shows were produced by Sunrise, which is now a brand under BN Pictures, although there were variations in staff involvement. Bridge offered production support for the former, while Gathering contributed to the latter. Alongside the TV series, several anime movies were also released.
Sgt. Frog is an anime and manga series that originated from a manga published by KADOKAWA, created by Mine Yoshizaki. Viz Media describes the first volume as follows:
After Sgt. Keroro blew his cover and lost his top-secret weapon, the frog-like alien has been cut off from the homeworld. To make matters worse, he’s lost communications with the rest of his platoon. Now he has taken cover in the Hinata family household, where in exchange for doing his share of the chores, he gets his own room from which to secretly devise new plans of world domination!
