The production of a sequel anime project, The Irregular at Magic High School Part 2, has officially been announced, alongside the release of a new kickoff visual.

The first season of The Irregular at Magic High School premiered in April 2014. Since then, the franchise has expanded with The Irregular at Magic High School The Movie: The Girl Who Calls the Stars in 2017, a second TV anime season in 2020, the TV special “Reminiscence Arc” in 2021, and a third season that aired in April 2024.
The latest entry in the series, The Irregular at Magic High School THE MOVIE: Yotsuba Succession Arc, is currently screening in Japanese theaters.
Directed by Jimmy Stone and produced by Eightbit, the film is currently screening in Japan. Meanwhile, Aniplex of America has teased a “coming to theaters in 2026” release, with further details yet to be announced.

Based on the light novel by Tsutomu Sato, The irregular at magic high school is set in a world where magic exists but instead of using chants and spells, magic users cast spells with their Casting Assistant Device (CAD). The CAD is infused with the user’s Psions (a substance-less thought particle) that activates the device and constructs the magic ritual.
