Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You fans won’t have to wait until July to watch the anime. Crunchyroll has started streaming the first 12 mini episodes of the highly anticipated romantic comedy ahead of its official television premiere.

The series began serialization on X (formerly Twitter) on March 9, 2022. It is now also being serialized in Square Enix’s monthly magazine Big Gangan. The manga won first place in the Web Manga category of the Next Manga Awards 2022.
Square Enix publishes the series in English and describes the story as follows:
At age forty-five, office worker Sasaki has had enough of the corporate grind. His only solace is smoking-and the friendly smile of supermarket cashier Yamada. When Sasaki can’t find Yamada after a particularly trying day, a striking woman invites him to smoke with her. The despondent man thinks he’s made a new smoking buddy in the cool, teasing Tayama, but Sasaki doesn’t realize he already knows her!
