U-NEXT HOLDINGS has announced that it will acquire GoHands as a wholly owned subsidiary. The companies revealed on May 25 that a share transfer agreement has been signed, with the acquisition scheduled to take effect on June 1.
Founded in August 2008, GoHands is known for anime productions such as Hand Shakers, and Momentary Lily. U-NEXT HOLDINGS, established in February 2009, operates the streaming platform U-NEXT.
Through this acquisition, U-NEXT HOLDINGS aims to combine its existing animation production capabilities with GoHands’ creative expertise, creating a stronger framework that covers the entire process from original IP development to anime production and global distribution.
Going forward, GoHands will continue to leverage its strengths as an animation studio while reinforcing its business foundation and supporting long-term growth within the entertainment industry.
