For the TV anime Smoking Behind the Supermarket With You, details have been revealed regarding the opening and ending themes for the ABEMA-exclusive early streaming version. A creditless opening and ending video has also been released.
The ABEMA-exclusive early streaming version will begin streaming all 12 episodes from June 3 at 8:30 PM. In addition, Episodes 1 to 6 from the TV broadcast version aired starting in July in a short 10-minute format, will be released in advance in chronological order.
The opening and ending themes for the ABEMA version feature different songs from the TV broadcast. The opening theme is performed by Zutomayo, with the track titled “Ichijiku Kemuri”, while the ending theme is “Fiction” by imase.
It has also been announced that a second promotional video featuring Zutomayo’s opening theme will be released at a later date.
The anime is set to premiere in July 2026 on Crunchyroll. Netflix wil stream the anime in select regions of Asia.

The series began serialization on X (formerly Twitter) on March 9, 2022. It is now also being serialized in Square Enix’s monthly magazine Big Gangan. The manga won first place in the Web Manga category of the Next Manga Awards 2022.
Square Enix publishes the series in English and describes the story as follows:
At age forty-five, office worker Sasaki has had enough of the corporate grind. His only solace is smoking-and the friendly smile of supermarket cashier Yamada. When Sasaki can’t find Yamada after a particularly trying day, a striking woman invites him to smoke with her. The despondent man thinks he’s made a new smoking buddy in the cool, teasing Tayama, but Sasaki doesn’t realize he already knows her!
