The TV anime Recommendation from Mr. Iwamoto by Hiroshi Shiibashi is set to premiere in July 2026. Alongside the announcement, new characters and their voice cast have been revealed, as well as the second promotional video and key visual.
This information was unveiled today, March 29, at AnimeJapan 2026, held at Tokyo Big Sight in Tokyo.

Recommendation from Mr. Iwamoto is a romantic story set in 1910s Japan. Iwamoto Kodo, a student at a military-run junior high school, is tasked with investigating paranormal events across the country and identifying individuals with supernatural abilities for military use. Through his travels, he encounters mysterious phenomena and gifted people, revealing human bonds and the desire to protect others.
Originally published as a one-shot on Shonen Jump+ in March 2020, the series began serialization in Ultra Jump in March 2021.
