Animation streaming platform ADN, in partnership with CGR Events, has announced the European theatrical release of THE LEGEND OF HEI II.
The film will be shown as a special cinema event across several countries, including France, Belgium, and Luxembourg. In French-speaking regions, it will be screened only on April 23 and April 25. Release dates for other countries will be announced soon.
The film is a sequel to THE LEGEND OF HEI (2019), which helped establish the franchise as a key name in Chinese animation. More sequels are already in development.
Before the release, the first film will be available in France on ADN starting March 25, 2026.

Created by MTJJ, the new film is produced by animation studio Hanmu Chunhua (HMCH). In North America, the first THE LEGEND OF HEI film was previously released in 2021 on Blu-ray/DVD by Shout! Studios, including an English dub.
STORY:
When cat spirit Luo Xiaohei’s home is deforested by humans, he must find a new one. He runs into a group of other spirit creatures who take him under their wing with dreams of reconquering the land they say is rightfully theirs. However, they run into a human known as Wuxian who separates Luo Xiaohei from the other spirits and the two go on a journey, with the cat spirit learning to control his abilities as well as forming his own thoughts on whether or not he should ally with the spirits or the humans.

When an attack shatters the fragile peace between the spirit world and humanity, Hei teams up with Luye, the last disciple of his Shifu Wuxian, to expose a conspiracy that threatens both realms – and the bond they’ve sworn to protect.
