The 4DX screenings of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea will begin on March 20 in 58 theaters across Japan. Starting March 13, a limited number of “Metallic Illustration Cards” will be distributed to moviegoers as the third round of admission bonuses.
Just 11 days after its release on February 27, the film has already attracted over 400,000 viewers, with box office revenue surpassing 540 million yen.
This marks the first 4DX release in the “Tensura” franchise, inspired by the film’s ocean-themed title. The screening features enhanced environmental effects such as water splashes and ocean scents, synchronized with scenes involving rain, storms, and waves. During action sequences featuring Rimuru Tempest, Gobuta, and the Water Dragon, the motion effects simulate riding large ocean waves, adding an extra layer of realism.
Key Visual:

The third admission bonus includes a Metallic Illustration Card featuring the movie’s key visual on the front. On the back, fans will find a serial code that can be redeemed in the mobile game to obtain the character ★4 [Demon King] Rimuru Tempest.

The movie will start its international theatrical release in late April and early May. It will be shown in both subtitled and English dubbed versions.
Based on the light novels by Fuse, Crunchyroll offers streaming for every preceding season of “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime“, along with the Scarlet Bond movie and the newly released Visions of Coleus OVA, available in both subtitled and dubbed versions.
Crunchyroll describes That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea as follows:
After concluding the opening ceremony of the Demon Kingdom Federation Tempest, Rimuru and his companions are invited by the Celestial Emperor Hermesia of the great elven nation – the Magi Dynasty Salion – to visit her private resort island. As the group enjoys their brief vacation, a mysterious woman named Yura appears. A new incident unfolds against the backdrop of the boundless azure sea.
