Since Masamune Shirow published the original “Ghost in the Shell” comic in 1989 in “YOUNG MAGAZINE” (Kodansha), the series has continued to captivate and inspire audiences worldwide through various adaptations, including Mamoru Oshii‘s 1995 film “GHOST IN THE SHELL,” multiple anime series, and a Hollywood live-action film.

Kodansha USA describes the original manga as follows:

From Shirow Masamune, the award-winning creator of Appleseed and Dominion, comes The Ghost in the Shell, the definitive cyberpunk manga that inspired the internationally acclaimed animated film. An epic dystopian tale of politics, technology, and metaphysics, The Ghost in the Shell has been hailed worldwide as an unparalleled visionary work of graphic fiction.

Deep into the twenty-first century, the line between man and machine has been inexorably blurred as humans rely on the enhancement of mechanical implants and robots are upgraded with human tissue. In this rapidly converging landscape, cyborg superagent Major Motoko Kusanagi is charged to track down the craftiest and most dangerous terrorists and cybercriminals, including “ghost hackers” who are capable of exploiting the human/machine interfance and reprogramming humans to become puppets to carry out the hackers’ criminal ends. When Major Kusanagi tracks the cybertrail of one such master hacker, the Puppeteer, her quest leads her into a world beyond information and technology where the very nature of consciousness and the human soul are turned upside down.

Another major project is the reboot of FIST OF THE NORTH STAR: HOKUTO NO KEN. Prime Video holds worldwide rights to this new version of the classic action series.

Fist of the North Star” is a post-apocalyptic action manga set in a world ravaged by nuclear war, where civilization has collapsed and violence reigns. The manga was originally serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from 1983 to 1988.

STORY:
In the year 199X, the world is engulfed in a nuclear inferno! The seas have vanished. The earth lies in ruins. It seems all life has been wiped out…but humanity has not perished!

Across the scorched and broken land, survivors cling to hope, desperately searching for food and water. However, their hopes are trampled underfoot by violence. Might makes right in this world, and the weak are crushed without mercy.

From the depths of that despair, a lone man with seven scars on his chest emerges. His name is Kenshiro, heir to the legendary assassination art Hokuto Shinken. As he roams the wasteland in pursuit of his sworn enemy Shin, who stole his fiancée Yuria, Kenshiro answers the cries of the oppressed, becoming a beacon of hope in a world of despair.

Standing in his path are brutal survivors of the apocalypse, their ambitions twisted by power and greed. In a world where the weak are prey and prayers go unheard, Kenshiro forges a path with his iron fists!

INTRODUCTION:
The legendary action manga Fist of the North Star, written by Buronson and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara, first began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1983. With its overwhelmingly powerful artwork, striking world-building, and unforgettable characters, the story of protagonist Kenshiro—who defeats evil with the deadly martial art, Hokuto Shinken—captivated readers from the very start. And now, in 2026, Fist of the North Star will be reborn as a new anime, brought to life by an all-new team of creators and voice actors, and powered by the latest animation technology. The brutal saga of men in a ruined world returns to forge a new legend!

The platform will also stream Season 2 of From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman, continuing the fantasy story for international audiences.

In his younger years, he dreamed of glory as a master swordsman, but those days are long behind him. Out of the blue, he receives a visit from a famous former pupil who brings him world-shattering news—he’s been appointed as a special instructor for the knights of the Liberion Order! With his life now turned upside down, Beryl travels to the capital and reunites with some of his former students: elite knights, an ace wizard, and even an adventurer who’s attained the highest guild rank possible. But why do they all want his tutelage?! As far as he’s concerned, they clearly don’t need him anymore. Can Beryl live up to his new position? And will he ever get a moment’s peace away from his adoring students?!
