The IMAX version of GINTAMA: Yoshiwara in Flames, based on the work of Hideaki Sorachi, will be screened in 57 theaters across Japan starting February 13, the film’s official release date. In addition, a new « Battle PV » titled « Kamui vs. Hosen Edition » has been released.
The film presents a brand-new animated adaptation of the fan-favorite “Yoshiwara in Flames” arc from Gintama.

The upcoming film project will revisit the manga’s “Yoshiwara in Flames” arc, which was previously adapted into eight episodes of the TV anime back in 2009.
The anime series concluded in 2018 after four seasons. In addition to the main series, several films were released, including Gintama: The Final in 2021, as well as a wave of Gintama on Theater 2D features cinematic re-edits of story arcs previously adapted for television.
