Dragon Ball Super: THE GALACTIC PATROL Officially Announced

During the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri, a special event held at Makuhari Messe in Japan to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Dragon Ball, a big surprise was revealed. At the opening stage, “Exclusive Announcements! GENKIDASTAGE Part 1”, it was confirmed that Dragon Ball Super: THE GALACTIC PATROL is now in production.

A teaser visual was also revealed for the first time. It shows Goku and Vegeta wearing Galactic Patrol uniforms, standing side by side with serious expressions.

This new arc continues the story after the “Universe Survival Arc” from the Dragon Ball Super anime. It adapts the “Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc” from the manga. Goku and Vegeta join forces with the Galactic Patrol, the galaxy’s peacekeepers, to fight a powerful new enemy: Moro, the Planet-Eater.

To celebrate Dragon Ball’s 40th anniversary, Toei Animation has released a special animated video. Directed by Naoki Miyahara, known for his work on Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT, and THE FIRST SLAM DUNK, the animation brings Akira Toriyama’s illustrations to life with stunning detail, textures, and colors. The video captures Son Goku’s growth and journey in dynamic visuals.

The music for the special video was composed by world-renowned Hans Zimmer, famous for Pirates of the Caribbean and The Lion King. Zimmer created a powerful orchestral score that complements Toriyama’s artwork, adding depth and emotion to Goku’s adventure. Zimmer expressed his excitement at seeing the video completed and shared a message for Dragon Ball fans worldwide.

Dragon Ball is a famous Japanese manga created by Akira Toriyama. It was originally published by Shueisha in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1984 to 1995. The English version of the manga is available from VIZ Media.
