The official website for the Doraemon anime film announced that Japanese actor Airi Taira will join the upcoming movie Doraemon the Movie: New Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea Devil. She will act as a promotional ambassador and also provide a guest voice role in the film.
As the 45th installment in the Doraemon the Movie franchise, this new film is a modern remake, originally released in 1983. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on February 27, 2026 in Japan.

The original film followed Nobita, Doraemon, and friends on an adventure through the legendary underwater kingdoms of Mu and Atlantis. While details on how closely the new movie will follow the 1983 storyline remain under wraps, the main visual promise an epic oceanic journey for Doraemon fans old and new.
