ALL YOU NEED IS KILL English dub trailer has been released for the upcoming animated film, along with the official dub cast announcement. The anime film will premiere in Japan on January 9, 2026, and will arrive in North American theaters on January 16, distributed by GKIDS.
The movie is directed by Kenichiro Akimoto, known for his work as unit director on “Fortune Favors Lady Nikuko“, and is produced by STUDIO 4°C.

ALL YOU NEED IS KILL was first published as a light novel in Japan in December 2004, and later released in English by Viz Media in 2009. The story was adapted into a manga in 2014, written by Ryosuke Takeuchi with artwork by Takeshi Obata.
That same year, the novel inspired the Hollywood film Edge of Tomorrow, starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt.
GKIDS describes the main story as follows:
Set in the year 20XX, ALL YOU NEED IS KILL follows the story of Rita, a resourceful but isolated young woman volunteering to help rebuild Japan after the mysterious appearance of a massive alien flower known as “Darol.” When Darol unexpectedly erupts in a deadly event, unleashing monstrous creatures that decimate the population, Rita is caught in the destruction—and killed. But then she wakes up again. And again. Caught in an endless time loop, Rita must navigate the trauma and repetition of death until she crosses paths with Keiji, a shy young man trapped in the same cycle. Together, they fight to break free from the loop and find meaning in the chaos around them.
