Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc x Kenshi Yonezu and Hikaru Utada’s “JANE DOE” Collaboration MV Unveiled

As the ending theme of Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc by Tatsuki Fujimoto, “JANE DOE”, performed by Kenshi Yonezu and Hikaru Utada now has a released “special music video”. The video features scenes from Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc set to the song “JANE DOE”.

It opens with Denji and Reze’s fateful first meeting in a phone booth under pouring rain, then moves through their moments together at a café and on two different roads. It shows them laughing by the school pool at night after sneaking in, and enjoying a date at a lively summer festival. At the same time, it subtly foreshadows the inescapable fate awaiting them.

INTRODUCTION:
“Chainsaw Man” is a manga serialized in Shueisha’s “Shonen Jump+” that has sold over 30,000,000 copies. In 2022, the series was broadcast as a TV Anime series that was made by animation studio MAPPA (Notable works: “JUJUTSU KAISEN”, “Attack on Titan Final Season”, etc.), creating buzz all over the world. Now in 2025, the episode that made the world go wild during its serialization is coming to theaters as an animated movie!

STORY:
Denji (Kikunosuke Toya) became “Chainsaw Man”, a boy with a devil’s heart, and is now part of Special Division 4’s devil hunters. After a date with Makima (Tomori Kusunoki), the woman of his dreams, Denji takes shelter from the rain and meets a girl called Reze (Reina Ueda). The girl, who works at a nearby café, gives him a gentle smile, and they quickly grow close. From this encounter onward, Denji’s everyday life begins to change.

The first season of Chainsaw Man was a huge success, with memorable characters and a unique aesthetic. VIZ Media releases the manga in English, Crunchyroll describes the series as such:

Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita. 

One day, Denji is betrayed and killed. As his consciousness fades, he makes a contract with Pochita and gets revived as “Chainsaw Man” — a man with a devil’s heart.
