Box office results for Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc (released on September 19) have been announced: the film has attracted more than 5.72 million moviegoers and has earned over 8.77 billion yen in its first 59 days. With this achievement, it has surpassed The Eternal 0 (2013) in the all-time box office rankings, rising to 76th place, according to the Box Office News Agency.
The movie opened in 421 theaters nationwide. On its first day, it drew 272,000 viewers and earned more than 420 million yen. Initially, distributor Toho projected a final box office total of around 5 billion yen, describing the opening as a strong start toward that goal. However, the film far exceeded expectations, surpassing the 5-billion-yen mark in less than a month and becoming a major hit.
Toho commented, “The momentum hasn’t stopped!! On top of that, over 100 countries and regions—including South Korea and the United States—are showing tremendous excitement!!” expressing surprise at the film’s global reception.

INTRODUCTION:
“Chainsaw Man” is a manga serialized in Shueisha’s “Shonen Jump+” that has sold over 30,000,000 copies. STORY:
Denji (Kikunosuke Toya) became “Chainsaw Man”, a boy with a devil’s heart, and is now part of Special Division 4’s devil hunters. After a date with Makima (Tomori Kusunoki), the woman of his dreams, Denji takes shelter from the rain and meets a girl called Reze (Reina Ueda). The girl, who works at a nearby café, gives him a gentle smile, and they quickly grow close. From this encounter onward, Denji’s everyday life begins to change.
The first season of Chainsaw Man was a huge success, with memorable characters and a unique aesthetic. VIZ Media releases the manga in English, Crunchyroll describes the series as such:
Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita.
One day, Denji is betrayed and killed. As his consciousness fades, he makes a contract with Pochita and gets revived as “Chainsaw Man” — a man with a devil’s heart.
