GAEA-TIMA the Gigantis Anime Project Announced with New Illustration from KENT

Sci-fi drama manga.

It has been announced that an anime adaptation of KENT’s GAEA-TIMA the Gigantis is currently in development. To commemorate the news, a special celebratory illustration drawn by KENT has also been released.

Official announcement:

The latest seven volumes has been released today, November 17. This science-fiction drama explores the bond between humans and colossal creatures. The series is serialized in Monthly Young Magazine (Kodansha) and is simultaneously available on Yanmaga Web, Magazine Pocket, and the international manga app K MANGA. In addition, numerous overseas editions have been developed, including the North American release titled GAEA-TIMA the Gigantis.

K MANGA describes the manga as follows:

A monster that people call GAEA-TIMA devastates a small, seaside town. Ten years later, the resilient community has emerged as a tourist destination, and Miyako, who became a local celebrity by surviving the attack, is making a living selling mini-replicas of the beast. But when GAEA-TIMA returns, Miyako and her neighbors will discover that their enduring connection to the creature goes deeper than tourism and trauma. Just what is the true agenda behind the attack of the “gigantis?” Are there more like GAEA-TIMA waiting for their moment? And is humanity capable of responding to violence with anything other than more violence?
