JUJUTSU KAISEN TV Anime Releases Special Recap Ahead of Season 3

Based on Gege Akutami’s original work, the anime JUJUTSU KAISEN has released a special program titled “JUJUTSU KAISEN Special: It’s Not Too Late to Catch Up!” on YouTube.

This special commemorates the upcoming release of JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution -Shibuya Incident x The Culling Game Begins- on November 7th in Japan.

The program revisits the journey of the main character, Yuji Itadori, tracing his growth and struggles from the beginning of his life as a sorcerer to the events of the Culling Game. It also highlights the many characters whose fates intertwine with his.

Even newcomers to the series—or those who may have forgotten parts of the story—can enjoy this special recap. It also touches on the revival of the JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 movie, spotlighting Yuta Okkotsu and his development.

This is the perfect opportunity to catch up on the story so far, ahead of the third season of the TV anime, “JUJUTSU KAISEN: Culling Game Part 1” set to premiere in January 2026.

Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures has announced its acquisition of distribution rights for JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution -Shibuya Incident x The Culling Game Begins- in select territories including UK and Ireland, EMEA, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific for the upcoming film.

The new season begins broadcasting January 2026. In “The Culling Game,” Yuta Okkotsu, the special grade jujutsu sorcerer and protagonist of “JUJUTSU KAISEN 0,” enters the fray as an executioner, turning his blade toward Itadori. “The Cursed Two,” bound by a shared mentor, ignite one of the most iconic and ferocious battles from the original manga, soon to be brought vividly to life on screen. This marks the first encounter between the two protagonists, leading to an epic clash of cursed energies.

Crunchyroll is streaming the season 1 & 2 of the JUJUTSU KAISEN anime alongside the anime film, JUJUTSU KAISEN 0. Crunchyroll describes the first arc of the season 2, the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc, as such:
