The production of The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 5 has officially been confirmed. Alongside the announcement, an “Ultra Teaser Visual” and a special promotional video have been unveiled. This news comes right after the broadcast of the Season 4 finale on September 24.

KADOKAWA has launched its first global game project for PC and smartphones, based on the TV anime The Rising of the Shield Hero. Alongside the announcement, the first teaser visual for the game has been revealed.

Based on the novel by Yusagi Aneko, The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 1 aired in 2019, Season 2 in 2022, and Season 3 in October 2023. Crunchyroll describes The Rising of the Shield Hero anime series:
Iwatani Naofumi, a run-of-the-mill otaku, finds a book in the library that summons him to another world. He is tasked with joining the sword, spear, and bow as one of the Four Cardinal Heroes and fighting the Waves of Catastrophe as the Shield Hero.
Excited by the prospect of a grand adventure, Naofumi sets off with his party. However, merely a few days later, he is betrayed and loses all his money, dignity, and respect. Unable to trust anyone anymore, he employs a slave named Raphtalia and takes on the Waves and the world.
But will he really find a way to overturn this desperate situation?
