The original TV anime Inherit the Winds will feature a main cast including Daisuke Sakuma (Snow Man), Yuki Kaji, and Aoi Yuki. The series is directed by Tomohiro Kawamura and produced by Live2D Creative Studio in collaboration with Studio Drive.

The anime is set in Kyoto during the Bakumatsu era. A soldier who has lost his memory is taken under the wing of the renowned Shinsengumi member Sōji Okita. Okita gives him a new identity, naming him Junsuke Tachikawa. Amidst the Mibu soldiers, Junsuke begins a new chapter in his life.
