The official website for the ongoing TV anime Summer Pockets has revealed that Kana Hanazawa will be joining the cast. Hanazawa will voice Nanami, a brand-new character set to make her debut in Episode 23.
Alongside the announcement, the production team also unveiled the anime’s eighth key visual and a new trailer, both highlighting Nanami’s introduction.

As previously announced, the Summer Pockets TV anime will be returning to the big screen in Japan with a special series of theatrical edits. These limited-time screenings will take place weekly from mid-August through early September 2025.

Summer Pockets , a visual novel first released in 2018, was initially available on PC, iOS, and Android. It was later launched on the Nintendo Switch in 2019 and on Steam in 2020. An enhanced version, “Summer Pockets Reflection Blue,” featuring new heroines and routes, was released in 2020 for PC and Android, and in 2021 for iOS and the Nintendo Switch.
Playasia describes the story as follows:
Summer Pockets is set on an isolated, rural, and peaceful island on the Seto Inland Sea called Torishirojima, which has a population of about 2,000 people. The protagonist is Hairi Takahara, a young man not native to the island. Hairi grew up in an urban setting, but after an unpleasant incident, he uses the recent death of his grandmother as an excuse to come to the island to take care of her estate sale. Once there, he gets to know four girls who are the focus of the story. They include Shiroha Naruse, who forgot her summer vacation; Ao Sorakado, who is pursuing the legends of the island; Kamome Kushima, a high-class girl looking for a pirate ship; and Tsumugi Wenders, a younger girl trying to find herself.
