It has been announced that the IMAX version of Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s work, will be released simultaneously across 61 theaters in Japan starting September 19. Alongside the announcement, the official IMAX poster visual has also been unveiled.

Ahead of the film’s release on September 19, ABEMA will air a special program on September 5. The show will feature Kikunosuke Toya (voice of Denji), comedian Crystal Noda (Magical Lovely), who is a self-proclaimed Chainsaw Man fan, Shogo (Tokyo Hoteison), freelance announcer Neki Matsuzawa, and Vivian Murakawa from idol group CANDY TUNE.
The program will be hosted by Kendo Kobayashi, who also visited anime studio MAPPA to explore the behind-the-scenes of production. In addition, special commentary videos from Kenshi Yonezu responsible for both the theme song and ending theme will be included, alongside the latest updates on the upcoming movie.
The movie will begin its global rollout in September 24, with screenings in the United States starting on October 29, 2025. Check out the list of International theatrical dates:

INTRODUCTION:
“Chainsaw Man” is a manga serialized in Shueisha’s “Shonen Jump+” that has sold over 30,000,000 copies. In 2022, the series was broadcast as a TV Anime series that was made by animation studio MAPPA (Notable works: “JUJUTSU KAISEN”, “Attack on Titan Final Season”, etc.), creating buzz all over the world. Now in 2025, the episode that made the world go wild during its serialization is coming to theaters as an animated movie!
STORY:
Denji (Kikunosuke Toya) became “Chainsaw Man”, a boy with a devil’s heart, and is now part of Special Division 4’s devil hunters. After a date with Makima (Tomori Kusunoki), the woman of his dreams, Denji takes shelter from the rain and meets a girl called Reze (Reina Ueda). The girl, who works at a nearby café, gives him a gentle smile, and they quickly grow close. From this encounter onward, Denji’s everyday life begins to change.
The first season of Chainsaw Man was a huge success, with memorable characters and a unique aesthetic. VIZ Media releases the manga in English, Crunchyroll describes the series as such:
Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita.
One day, Denji is betrayed and killed. As his consciousness fades, he makes a contract with Pochita and gets revived as “Chainsaw Man” — a man with a devil’s heart.
