DAN DA DAN’s “Hunting Soul” Sparks Apology to YOSHIKI and X JAPAN

Constructive talks with the relevant parties are progressing.

The production committee of the TV anime DAN DA DAN has released an official statement addressing concerns surrounding the song “Hunting Soul”. The apology comes after fans raised questions about the involvement of legendary musician YOSHIKI and his band X JAPAN.

Official post:

According to the statement, the song was composed as a tribute to the passion and artistry of YOSHIKI and X JAPAN, with the intention of matching the anime’s story and enhancing its overall quality. However, the committee admitted that prior communication with YOSHIKI and his team was insufficient, leading to misunderstandings and concerns.

“We deeply respect Mr. YOSHIKI and X JAPAN,” the statement reads. “Our goal was never to cause worry, but rather to elevate the anime with a musical expression.”

The production team confirmed that they have already held discussions with YOSHIKI and are considering this incident as an opportunity to pursue future creative projects together.

The committee also extended its apology to fans of both X JAPAN and DAN DA DAN, as well as to industry stakeholders, promising to handle rights-related matters constructively.
