Shingo Natsume’s first original theatrical anime, currently titled “Ghost” (working title), has officially been announced. The original character concepts were created by Natsume Ono, with Norifumi Kugai handling character design. The film is being produced by MADHOUSE and is slated for a 2027 release. Alongside the announcement, a teaser visual titled the “production decision visual” has also been revealed.

Natsume has worked on numerous acclaimed anime titles, including One Punch Man, ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept., and The Tatami Time Machine Blues. He garnered widespread attention with his first original TV anime, Sonny Boy.
“Ghost” (working title) evokes a deeply genuine yet indescribable emotion that lingers in everyone’s heart. The lyrics explore the quiet loneliness and quiet courage of Nike, a young girl who defies a senseless world in order to protect the starry sky. Through her connections with others, the song delicately portrays the emotional complexities within her heart.
