Gawr Gura, the iconic VTuber shark girl from hololive English, has officially announced her graduation from the agency, scheduled for May 1, 2025. The news was shared in her recent YouTube livestream, and later confirmed by COVER Corp.

In her announcement, Gura cited creative differences with management and the company’s current direction as the reason behind her departure. Despite this, she expressed deep gratitude for her time in hololive, especially for meeting fellow talents and fulfilling her dream of performing for fans around the world.
The agency’s official statement honored Gura’s legacy since her debut as a member of hololive English -Myth- in September 2020, describing her as a pioneer in the VTuber space who helped shape the identity and growth of hololive production globally. With over 4.5 million YouTube subscribers, Gura remains one of the most influential VTubers of all time.
Fan letters will be accepted until May 1, and membership content will remain available until August 1, 2025.
Gura’s graduation follows several recent changes within hololive, including graduations of Nanashi Mumei, Murasaki Shion, Ceres Fauna, and Minato Aqua, along with Amelia Watson and Sakamata Chloe stepping down as full members to become “affiliates.”
