The original Princess Principal TV series, co-produced by Studio 3Hz and Actas, aired for 12 episodes from July to September 2016. In April 2018, a six-part sequel film project was announced. The first chapter premiered in Japan on February 11, 2021 and the second chapter followed on September 23, 2021.
