The Japan Academy Prize, the most prestigious celebration of Japanese cinema, is preparing for its 48th annual ceremony on March 14, 2025. The Japan Academy Prize Association unveiled the nominees for all major categories.

At the 47th Japan Academy Prize, Hayao Miyazaki‘s latest anime, The Boy and the Heron, was honored as Animation of the Year, while Godzilla Minus One claimed the prestigious Picture of the Year award.
