Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM Prequel Officially Announced!

The format have not been revealed yet.

The prequel to Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, titled Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO, will have a teaser preview showcased at the conclusion of the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM “special version” screenings. These screenings are scheduled for their second theatrical run from November 1 to November 14 (JST).

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM initially premiered in Japan on January 26. The film takes place in the 75th year of Mobile Suit Gundam Seed’s Cosmic Era timeline, following the Second Alliance-PLANT War in Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny. The original Seed series and its sequel, Seed Destiny, debuted in 2002 and 2004, respectively. Plans for a sequel movie were announced in 2006, and production was confirmed in 2021.

Japan Society describes the movie as follows:

In C.E.75, the fighting still continues. There is aggression by radical Anti-Coordinator group Blue Cosmos. In order to calm the situation, a global peace monitoring agency called COMPASS is established with Lacus Clyne as its leader. As members of COMPASS, Kira Yamato and his comrades intervene in regional battles across the world. Now, a newly established nation called Foundation proposes a joint operation against a Blue Cosmos stronghold…
