Ranma 1/2 Anime Reveals 5 New Cast Members!

Netflix will stream the series.

Additional cast members for the TV anime adaptation of “Ranma 1/2,” based on Rumiko Takahashi‘s original work, have been revealed. The anime is scheduled to premiere exclusively on Netflix starting October 5.

The anime remake of Ranma ½ is set to release over three decades after the original’s conclusion. This announcement followed the reboot of another Rumiko Takahashi classic, URUSEI YATSURARanma ½, Takahashi’s third major series, was serialized from August 1987 to March 1996, spanning 407 chapters and 38 volumes.

Netflix describes the story as follows:

Ranma Saotome and Akane Tendo’s parents have arranged for them to get married. However, there’s a problem: whenever Ranma is splashed with cold water, he turns into a girl! The stage is set for a slapstick martial arts rom-com filled with quirky characters!
